Boutiko is about combining a love of shopping with a love of the planet and the people with whom we share it, without being too worthy about it.

We think it's important that no one suffers in producing the products you love to buy.

We don't want to preach, it's just something about which we feel strongly. So we make sure that everything you see here comes from a good place; it might be made from recycled materials or organic ingredients; it might be Fair Trade or handmade locally. (We make it easy for you to identify which, with our handy key.) As long as it's beautiful too! So you shop with a clear conscience, the producers benefit directly, and everyone is happy. Lovely.

We are a small company, which means we can make it personal, even in the impersonal world of cyberspace. We want to know what YOU want, and how we can make your life easier. Talk to us. Tell us what you like, what you don't like, what you'd like to be different, how we could be better. We promise to listen and act on it whenever we can. Your input is essential to providing a place you enjoy shopping in, where you can feel confident that you'll find what you need, even if that's just advice. One last thing; as an ethical business we seek to make minimal impact on the environment. This means we recycle waste, use recycled materials wherever we can and never leave the office equipment on standby! We reuse as much packaging as we can, so you may find that your purchase arrives in a previously used box or envelope. (All wrapping is new and recyclable.) Please become part of the process by recycling as much of it as possible!

We don't make any grand statements about changing the world, but we hope to contribute in some small way, and if the cycle of creating, giving and receiving is a positive experience for everyone involved, that seems a very good place to start!
