Mi Mariposa, meaning ‘My Butterfly’ in Spanish, produces beautiful and unique clothing and accessories, which combine irresistible and fun designs with the traditional embroidery of Highland Ecuador. Their accessories are fun and make fabulous gifts, and provide original alternatives to the high street.
Working with a women’s co-operative, Nuevo Camino, in the foothills of Imbabura volcano, Ecuador, Mi Mariposa design original and beautiful products, providing the mothers with a regular living wage, whilst preserving and celebrating an important cultural tradition.
Everything is beautifully embroidered by hand, not mass produced, giving each item its own charm, ideal for people looking for something a little different but not expensive, hand made yet contemporary. |
